Welcome Gary Maida
We are pleased to announce that Gary Maida has joined Phoenix American Hospitality as Regional Director of Operations! Mr. Maida has over thirty years of experience in the hospitality industry, and we are thrilled to add him to our team!
Mr. Maida has over 30 year’s progressive experience in hospitality management. He has led hotels in every brand and across all market segments including Hilton, Marriott, Starwood, IHG and Hyatt. Additionally, Mr. Maida spent several years as an owner/operator of a multi-brand food operation as franchisee of Dunkin Donuts, Baskin Robbins, Subway and A&W Restaurants.
For the past 12 years, Mr. Maida worked for Hyatt Hotels where he progressed from General Manager to District Manager and eventually to Regional Vice President of Operations overseeing a portfolio of 18 hotels across 12 states. He joined Hyatt Hotels at the time Hyatt was rebranding the Amerisuites brand into Hyatt Place, and he was responsible for generating brand awareness in the New York City market.
During his 30+ years, Mr. Maida has enjoyed a track record of driving RevPar performance at his hotels, ensuring operational efficiencies by growing profitability, and driving positive guest satisfaction scores consistently in the top 10% of the brands he managed.
